Customer Opinion
Appearance Impressions
I think these springs did a good job of helping the vehicle look more aggressive
. . . or at least it doesn't look like it's on stilts any longer. The stock
springs have a .25" forward rake; the H&R's have a .1" reverse rake. I think the
vehicle looks pretty well balanced, and I'm not bothered about one tenth of an
inch worth of reverse rake.
If it really bothered me, I could install spring spacers in the rear in less
than 30 minutes, so it's not like this situation is unchangeable.
Driving Impressions
The stock springs are constant rate springs, whereas the H&R's are progressive
rate springs. Changing to the H&R progressive rate sport springs does three
things:
1) Helps to smooth out the overall ride over smooth to slightly moderate roads.
2) Offers an increased spring rate when the vehicle is under load (think hard
cornering, braking, etc.) which ultimately helps the vehicle perform better.
3) Lowers the vehicle, contributing toward epic badassery.
The overall ride quality is much improved (FYI, I'm still running OEM shocks).
The handling, however, is drastically improved. Prior to the spring install I
was strongly considering doing both F & R sway bars due to the excessive body
roll. I did not expect the H&R springs to reduce body roll to the extent that
they have. At this point, the car feels balanced, handles great, has very little
body roll, and I'm not convinced that upgrading sway bars will actually result
in a performance gain.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with this install.
Street & Circuit Opinion
This kind of feedback from customers who have fitted H&R springs is typical.
If you have never fitted a set of H&R springs to your car before you will be
astonished and amazed by the difference it makes to your car. H&R will exceed
your expectations, in our opinion all cars should be fitted with H&R sport
springs.
