Tuning Box - More Power & Better Fuel Economy?

We tell our customers to buy a tuning box for the extra power only.

We say this because the extra power is not dependent on how the car is driven.

Fuel economy is completely dependent on how the car is driven.

To get better fuel economy when using a tuning box the driver needs to use less total engine revolutions than they normally would. i.e. change gear earlier

Because a tuning box increases torque low down in the rev range it gives the car the ability to accelerate at the same rate with less RPM.

So it is possible to get better fuel economy but the driver needs to accelerate at the same rate as they did before fitting the tuning box and they need to change gear earlier.

At Street & Circuit we only sell tuning boxes as a device which gives more power because that is the only thing we can guarantee i.e. that the product will give the engine more power.
