Just bought my 2nd roll to re-wrap the pipes on my Harley Fat Bob. Had the previous heat wrap on for about a year - Ape
One set I soaked for way longer to get a decent light grey color out of the finished product and the other I wrapped with a ten minute soak to keep em black. I've never used the silicone spray and after a year of hard riding I have had zero problems - EchoFive
The heat from the engine has been known to get so hot it melts the bolts that hold the access panel above the motor in place. I was having issues with heat around the manifold and turbo. Wrapping the exhaust has significantly improved the flow of hot air so it goes out the tail pipe - Poor Me
Smell lingers. Love it though. Way better than and off brand - Amazon Customer
You have to soak this stuff in water before you wrap it, might want to pick up some nitrile gloves for installation because it will make your hands black while you are working with it wet. Turned out great! - JK
The temperature difference is quite noticeable before and after instalation - Gabriel
quality wrap let it soak in water before attempting insulation i always place the exhaust in a vice to let me get it as tight as possible.- Santa
Only down side is it fades to grey almost instantly once it has gotten heat to it - JT

Improves horsepower by assisting exhaust scavenging and by keeping exhaust gas at higher speedIncreases horspower by keeping the engine intake system cooler Increase engine reliability but reducing temperatures Reduces stress on parts in engine bay by lowering temperatures Makes cooling engine cooling system more effective by protecting radiator and hose from heat Improves effectiveness of air conditioning by keeping air conditioning radiator cooler
Wrapping headers and down pipes is an important first step in controlling unwanted underhood radiant heat. Keeping exhaust gases hotter within the exhaust system helps in decreasing exhaust density and increases exhaust flow. This improves exhaust scavenging resulting in cooler air intake temperatures for an improvement in performance and a gain in horsepower.
