After reading people's thoughts on these and saying you should just put your foot down and you get the same effect are completely wrong, this unit completely transforms the way this car drives, eco mode is crazy sluggish feeling like a little 1 litre in comfort mode (for anyone that wants their mpg in the 40 mark) push a few buttons on the device for sports modes and literally with the faintest of taps on the throttle you are gone, instantaneous power. Overall opinion....... Certainly does what it claims to do. You will still get the odd 'hang fire' on the DSG Going up a gear, but I don't think there is anything the average owner can do about that. I haven't timed it, but it seems to give a much quicker 'off the mark' sprint. But once it opens the throttle to the max. I don't think it is any quicker. Why you need it

-In traffic, you can reduce the response of your throttle to make car smoother at low speeds

-Your car has built in throttle response adjustment, eg BMW M4, but the car always defaults to slowest settings when you turn the car on. RaceChip XLR never resets unless you tell it to

-You want to increase the response of your engine

-You find there is a delay between applying the throttle and getting extra power.

-You want your car to feel faster

-You want your car too feel slower, for example some people can find the throttle "snappy" for example BMW M3 F80, you can calm the throttle response with a RaceChip XLR

 

How RaceChip XLR works


The RaceChip XLR is installed between the throttle pedal sensor and the engine control unit. Depending on the XLR’s tuning stage, it either amplifes or reduces the signals sent by the throttle pedal sensor in accordance with characteristics defined by our engineers. The effect is that you can choose how your car reacts to your throttle inputs.

2 Sport (S, S+) and 2 Race stages (R, R+) sharpen throttle response, speeding up the engine’s reaction times, making it as reactive as even a sportscar’s. 2 Eco stages (E, E+) slow down the engine’s reaction to movements of the throttle. In heavy city traffic and on long journeys, this can help you reduce fuel consumption. You can select N if don’t want or need to use XLR, and your car is back to stock tune.

RaceChip XLR is available for any car equipped with an electronic throttle, regardless of whether the engine is naturally aspirated, turbocharged, supercharged, electric or hybrid.

All RaceChip products are plug-and-play. You do not need any special knowledge of tools to install the product. In the unlikely event that installation is difficult on your engine, we will send you the install photo before we take your order. Otherwise we will send you a photo with the product.

RS - Increase Engine Power

4. Can be reprogrammed, price depends on the cars, budget 150-190 Euro which includes new cables if needed and all transport costs.

GTS - Increase Engine Power - Same as the RS except

1. 7 Power Settings
2. Includes free reprogramming. Reprogramming does not include transport and new cables if they are required, budget between 70 and 120 Euro.

NOTE: As an extra service, RaceChip offer an engine and gearbox warranty in some markets. At the moment RaceChip have not found a suitable insurance partner in Greece. For this reason they offer no engine or gearbox warranty for customers in Greece, on any RaceChip product. RaceChip products sold in Greece are identical to those sold in other markets eg Germany, Switzerland. For more information of the product warranty see below.

XLR - Adjust your engine's throttle response
